All about us...
The perfect dessert option and festival favourite, the brownie. Our brownies are all baked on site and we serve them with ice-cream or custard. We cater for all tastes and intolerances, gluten free, vegan and raw are all specialities. We make vegan ice-cream and custard to serve with the vegan brownies. All the accompaniments are gluten free. Brownie sundaes with fruit and cream are also available. For a breakfast option make brownie muffins with oats and serve them with yoghurt, honey and fresh fruit. Healthy and light start to the day, with a cup of locally ground rainforest alliance filter coffee or Fairtrade teas.
..and at The Green Brownie we are green not just in name.
In 2015 we won sustainable green trader GOLD award at Glastonbury festival which was an amazing recognition for all our hard work. All our brownies are baked on site, as sustainably and ethically as possible. We use organic fair-trade chocolate, locally produced free range butter and eggs (within 1 mile) and we hand make many of the flavours for the brownies. Baking on site reduces our waste and we don’t run out! We use some solar lighting in the trailer and hope to increase this by the summer. We use only compostable disposables.
We believe in being as sustainable as possible both on and off the festival site. So we take home with us our compostable waste; teabags, coffee, cardboard & wooden utensils. We live on a mini small-holding in North Devon where our aim is to be as self-sufficient as we can. The compost produced is used to help our vegetables grow so it is very important that we use only what we can feed back to the earth.
On the holding I milk 2 goats daily and we use some the milk to make caramel sauce, fudge and cream cheese, which we use in the brownies. We make jams and marmalades from our own or foraged fruits also for the brownies and make our own vanilla extract and peanut butter too.
The trailer was once a dirty old burger van that we lovingly restored using reclaimed wood and lots of finds. We handmade the kitchen awning that we erect behind it. A local sign writing artist hand painted our gorgeous signs. We always attract a lot of attention from people commenting on how wonderful it looks.
Local sign writer/ brush stroker Sarah Harvey, from Paint Your Wagon has hand painted our signage.
The trailer and its décor has been loving made by us. We feel that all the personal care and attention we have given it creates a very distinctive stall that reflects our principals.
